Yes! We were supposed to fly to Osaka for our 1st trip of the year (Jan 2017). Thanks to my mommy, who doesn’t want to go to Japan without cherry blossoms! Well, it just led us to ‘so far’ the most beautiful country I’ve been in Asia, oppa KOREA 💕
Without being racist at all, I feel like you can already sense if a country is welcoming, even during visa applications. Based on experience, Korean tourist visa was definitely hassle-free, fast and even for free if you’ll apply it yourself. It was like Korea saying, ‘Just pack your things and the rest is on us!’
Got ourselves, private transfer from airport to our guesthouse. (You’ll come to realize that I’m most often tired and impatient after flights and I appreciate fast transfers). And this ATM machine at Incheon Airport didn’t helped us at all. I’m telling you its cute and challenging. 😀
We stayed at Woo Guesthouse merely because #windowviewislife. HAHA! And staying just in front the Gyeongbokgung palace and near Bukchon Hanok village is the goal.
Our host is very thoughtful and helpful. But I think he forgot to tell us that most of the restaurants in our area are close during lunch(12-15pm). HAAAY. My patience was teeeested! 🙂 So, we roamed every street of the village and YEEES we found a restaurant!!
We had a good time taking pictures and enjoying the weather at the palace. Trying to sink in that we are finally in SEOUL 💕.
Walked our way back to Bukchon village for….
This place (which I forgot the name, I`m sorry), made me feel like Song-Hye Kyo.
Went to Dongdaemun street market..
Day 2, was a full pack day. Yet, smooth, stress-free, perhaps an easy day. Thank you to TOP KOREA TOURS. OK. For the record, I don’t get travel agencies or day tour services, aside from our Korea trip. I had pretty valid reasons to pay for a private day tour since it was winter and we were going to Nami 🙂 It was a pretty good choice landing to TOP KOREA and meeting Juno. Basically, he was our driver/tour guide/photographer. It was not cheap but we’re satisfied 🙂
Before driving outside Seoul, we checked out Seoul Tower. Outside the tower was already a good deal that we didn’t mind checking the tower itself. 😀
We just have to do this. And stay on the blog to see where is the best place to throw the keys. 💕
Petite France was not on the top of my list but since it was on the way, might as well visit the park. Luckily, we did because it was light and every corner was instagramable.
Nami Island!!! It is a must to visit this scenic and picturesque isle outside Seoul.
Threw the keys here, that no man and not even us can unlock it 💕
And for MJ’s favorite part, LUNCH!! Hahaha! Some real Korean BBQ just across the port of Nami. SOOOO GOOOOOD!!
And my favorite part, Garden of the morning calm. Winter light festival was on my bucket list and this garden is what I expected and more! Koreanovela vibes all over! Pretty sure that it is equally beautiful during summer but the garden during winter is AWESOME!
Drove back to Seoul for our fave thing to do.. GROCERY TIME and to try Korean noodles. Super spicy and yum!:)
Day 3, chill day. Tried the 1 star Michelin restau near our guesthouse, Keunkiwajip. They have these marinated crab which was their bestseller and very pricey. Unfortunately, it was not for our taste buds. We tried to eat it but we just can’t… 😦
And of course to Myeongdong... STREET FOOD 🙂 This street food market starts from 5pm and you would love to stay here until midnight! Can’t get enough…
And just the perfect way to end our trip, we found this studio just in the basement of our guesthouse. Amazing how Koreans looks so adorable and beautiful despite this heavy Hanbok. The colors, ribbons and accessories were so festive!
Before coming to Seoul, I never realized how chic, hype and Korean fever is all over. The people were the nicest! Culture is so rich that you want to indulge yourself and learn everything. Food, especially Korean BBQ and street markets are to die for!! Shopping, skin care and make-up, is endless!!! I can’t wait to come back and maybe visit North Korea, next time 🙂
